Adolescents opinion of homosexual families

The bachelor´s thesis focuses on the attitude of adolescents toward the families of homosexual couples. This topic has been the subject of much debate in recent years and today´s young people will soon decide whether homosexual couples will have parental rights and the opportunity to lock up marriage. The work consists of two parts. The theoretical part focuses on the concept of family, its definition and function. It also explains the concept of homosexuality and adolescence. Practical part solves in the form of quanitative research the attitude of adolescents to children and foundations families and gay couples. I chose an electronic questionnaire as the method for data collection. The data were processed and converted into graphs. It has established four research questions that I am trying to find answears to.
The Concept of Family and its Protection on the Czech and European Scale

The dissertation deals with the concept of family and its protection on the European scale and within the Czech private law. The main aim of the dissertation is to map the current European standards of the law on family life related to same-sex couples and cohabitations representing (together with a nuclear family) the typical family models. The European scale of the aforesaid issue is focused on analysis of EU member states' legislations and the case-law of the ECHR. Last but not least, the dissertation deals with the Czech private law on same-sex unions and cohabitations in the context of the European standards, reflects the shortcomings of current legislation and includes considerations de lege ferenda.
Developmental aspects of children from homoparental families

This diploma thesis focuses on selected aspects influencing the psychological development of children in homoparental families. The motivation to investigate these aspects is the growing number of children raised in homoparental families, which in turn evokes a debate in our society about possible impacts on the psychological and social development of these children. The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine level of socio-emotional competencies of children in homoparental families and to discover possible differences in their development. This goal was achieved by testing the socio-emotional competencies of a sample of four school-aged children using a standard IDS test and a questionnaire focusing on a challenging school and life situation. To deepen the knowledge about the families and the understanding of the background of upbringing, biographical and anamnestic core data questionnaire was sent to the families before personal meetings and also each child and one or both of his mothers were interviewed. The results of the tests and the questionnaires show no deviation of children raised in homoparental families from the average of heteronormative society in the field of the recognition and regulation of emotions, understanding of social situations and socially competent behavior. Registered partnership

1 Abstract This thesis deals with the legal regulation of the registered partnership and focuses mainly on the current issues concerning the rights of gay people towards minors. It consists of nine chapters, which gradually discuss the various areas related to the registered partnership. The first chapter deals with the historical context and the outline of the development of homosexuality in the society. The second chapter defines the basic terms with which the thesis operates. The third chapter discusses the sources of legal regulation at the European Union and the constitutional law level. The fourth chapter talks about the coexistence of people and especially about the institute of the registered partnership and it is divided into three subchapters. The first subchapter deals with the institute of marriage, a traditional union of two persons. The next subchapter deals with the development of the institute of the registered partnership and the process of approval of the law, including some arguments that have been heard during the legislative process at the Chamber of Deputies. Socialisation of a Child in Homoparental Family

The bachelor thesis "Socialization of a Child in a Homoparental Family" examines the new phenomenon of children who are growing up in homoparental families. The aim of the theoretical part is research of legislation in the Czech Republic, research of the primary socialization process of a child in a family, and the theme of prejudice, in which I will try to find important considerations which influenced the formation of a homoparental family. The aim of the empirical part is an introduction of opinions from professionals who are connected with the theme of homoparental parenthood. The theoretical part deals with the legislative basis of registered partnerships and the possibilities of the formation of a homoparental family. Furthermore, attention is paid to the primary socialization of a child in a family and the child's basic needs. The end of the theoretical part looks at the issue of prejudice, its formation and its manifestations. The research probe, which is described in an empirical part of the bachelor thesis, includes five structured interviews with professionals from several areas of expertise. Public attitude towards parenting of homosexual individuals and couples

The master thesis "Public attitude towards parenting of homosexual individuals and couples" deals with an attitude of Czech public towards parental rights of homosexuals and attitude of European public towards alternative family forms with focus on homoparental families. The topic requires attention as part of Czech legislators currently tries to pass the novella of Registered Partnership Act, which would enable homosexuals to adopt children of their partners; and with regard to the impact of public attitude towards homoparental families on these families. The current legislation concerning homosexual rights is described in the paper along with the up to now legislative process of submitted novella of the law. Also other ways of becoming parents besides the adoption of partner's child which homosexuals can use in the Czech Republic or elsewhere are presented. The thesis then focuses on adoption and assisted reproduction. Attitude of Czech public towards these parental rights of homosexuals is subject of own quantitative research, in which also predictors of this attitude and groups of people with more negative and more positive attitude than the rest of the population are identified. Current issues of adoption and education of children in homoparenting families

Bachelor thesis, "Current issues of adoption and education of children in homoparenting families" deals with the issue of homosexuality, a registered partnership, the possibilities of parenthood homosexual couples and the education of children in homoparenting families. In the beginning of my work I deal with the definition of homosexuality, causes of its origin, history and contemporary perspective on homosexuality and gay live opinions. Next there is a chapter about registered partnership, particularly brief contents of the act on the registered partnership, compare institute of registered partnership with the institute of marriage and the situation in the Czech Republic after the legalization of registered partnership. In the next chapter I summarized the possibilities of creation homoparenting families. The last chapter is about the topic of homoparenting families. The professional findings in the education of children in these families as well as education aspects of the enviroment resulting these families. Finaly a summary of the arguments for and against the education of children in homoparenting families.
Possibilities of cohabitation of homosexual couples in European Union countries

The dissertation thesis deals with the issue of registered partnership and with the attitudes of predominantly homosexual public to that institute, new from both social and legal perspective. The task of the delimitation of theoretical context is to state basic concepts related to the topic. That part deals further with registered partnership, its legal and social aspects in selected European Union countries. The research part includes processing and evaluation of data got by quantitative method of questioning, when opinions of homosexual, heterosexual and bisexual respondents on the current legal regulation of homosexual couples were ascertained with the help of anonymous questionnaire investigation. Also the method of qualitative research in form of group discussion was chosen for processing of the empirical part of the thesis. The goal of the thesis was to ascertain whether the legislation is convenient from the point of view of homosexual couples and whether there are not any forms of discrimination with regard to sexuality. The author deals marginally also the sphere of parenthood in the research part and ascertains whether more female or male couples live together. Last but not least she tries to outline the issue of discrimination. The thesis allows viewing the attitudes of heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual respondents to selected discrimination areas of this issue.
